G+B trainees inspire at Refrather wine festival
The Refrather Wine Festival took place from August 30 to September 1. For the second time, GAHRENS + BATTERMANN supported the regional festival at the headquarters location and let the G+B trainees get to work.
The organizers of the Refrath Wine Festival, which went into its third round this year, agree: “The second time it’s tradition and the third time it’s already custom…”. From August 30 to September 1, numerous visitors from Refrath and the region came to the Peter-Bürling-Platz and enjoyed another top-class event around the topic of wine.
With KOMPAKT B., the Porsche Zentrum Bensberg, the IG Refrather Handel, the Althoff Grand Hotel Schloss Bensberg and other regional companies, strong partners are coming together here to work hand in hand and put on a great event for the region. We are pleased to be part of this team and, as a national company, to be able to support the region at the location of our headquarters.

A family festival of the region
The Refrather Wine Festival is an event by Refrath residents for Refrath residents and has become an established event highlight in the region. Initiator Sebastian Schulmeister also emphasized this in particular at the press event in advance: “At the Refrather Wine Festival, all the people you know from the past come together in one place at home. It is not just a simple wine festival, but a family festival of the region.”
In addition to regionality, GAHRENS + BATTERMANN also attaches great importance to promoting young talent. Therefore, the G+B team seized the opportunity and linked the partnership with an educational training project.
In the course of sponsoring the Refrather Wine Festival, we gave our second and third year apprentices the opportunity to take over the comprehensive planning and implementation of the event. In addition to planning the sound, lighting and video technology, our apprentices also took care of the sound and lighting consoles and the image transmission of a live camera stream to the G+B LED trailer on the three days of the event. In this way, they were able to gain important experience in live operation during this project. We are pleased that our trainees implemented the project with bravura and were able to inspire the people at the Refrather Wine Festival.
