Scope of application
This Code of Conduct applies to all G+B sites and business units. We also require our suppliers and subcontractors to comply with the principles set out in this Code.

Human and employee rights
We treat everyone with respect and fairness and uphold fundamental human rights, as enshrined, for example, in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and in the Tripartite Declaration of Principles concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy of the International Labour Organisation (ILO). We do not tolerate forced labour or child labour, either at G+B or amongst our business partners.
We attach great importance to ensuring that our employees receive fair pay, are provided with social benefits, and that working hours and conditions are organised fairly in accordance with applicable laws. In doing so, we respect our employees’ right to join collective employee representative bodies.
Non-discrimination
Mutual respect forms the basis for a working environment characterised by mutual appreciation. We are committed to protecting the dignity of each individual in the workplace and to maintaining a working environment that is free from reprisals, discrimination, harassment and other unethical behaviour on the grounds of gender, age, race, skin colour, ethnic or national origin, nationality, religion, religious beliefs, physical or mental disability, veteran status, sexual orientation or other legally protected characteristics. In all employment decisions, including – but not limited to – recruitment and promotion, remuneration, fringe benefits, training, dismissals and terminations, all employees are treated strictly on the basis of their abilities and qualifications.

Compliance with antitrust and competition laws
Our business practices comply with applicable antitrust and competition law, as well as other laws and regulations relating, for example, to monopolies, unfair competition, restrictions on trade and competition, and relationships with competitors and customers. We do not enter into any unlawful agreements with competitors, nor do we engage in any other conduct that could unfairly restrict competition. In particular, we refrain from price-fixing and market-sharing arrangements.

Anti-corruption
G+B complies with the applicable anti-corruption laws and regulations, including those relating to bribery abroad. We reject any form of corruption, bribery, theft, embezzlement and extortion. Illegal payments, in particular payments or other benefits to individuals, a company or a public official with the aim of influencing decision-making processes, will not be tolerated. This applies regardless of whether or not such actions contravene applicable laws. Nor do we demand benefits or gifts of value from our business partners in order to secure business opportunities.
Health and environment
We are committed to providing all our employees with a safe working environment that promotes accident prevention and minimises health risks. Protecting the environment and conserving resources is a key aspect of our operations. That is why we go beyond mere compliance with applicable environmental laws and regulations and are committed, to the greatest extent possible, to resource conservation and environmental protection.

Import and export regulations
In our international business, we comply with the applicable import and export control laws, in particular all sanctions, embargoes and other laws, regulations, government orders and guidelines relating to the transport or shipment of goods and technologies.

Data protection, confidential information and intellectual property
Our collaboration with our business partners is characterised by reliability and integrity. We therefore take compliance with all applicable data protection laws as a matter of course. We treat any confidential business information or trade secrets that come to our attention in the course of our business dealings with our business partners as strictly confidential and will not use them in any unauthorised manner or disclose them to third parties. We protect our business partners’ intellectual property as confidential information.
Whistleblower and Complaints Procedure
We promote an open corporate culture and encourage employees, business partners and other stakeholders to report any potential breaches of the law, internal regulations or the Code of Conduct. We have set out this procedure in the document G+B Whistleblowing and Complaints Procedure in writing for everyone.
